Two-factor authentication means that you first login in the usual way with a username and password, but you will not proceed without the temporary code that is sent to the mobile number you have entered. The code must be entered in order to log in to new devices.
Enable two-factor authentication in iPhone
The security feature is easy to set up in iOS. Do this:
- Open the Settings app in your phone.
- Tap your name at the top.
- Tap Password and security.
- Touch Two-Factor Authentication.
Fill in the telephone number to which you want the confirmation codes sent.
Click Next. You will now receive a code sent to the number you entered. Enter the code to confirm the phone number and activate the function.
When you subsequently log in to a new device with your Apple ID, you will receive a code sent to your phone. The code is required to log in to your Apple account in the new device.
