Flow Rate:

And for a greater depth, the maximum head of the valve gets increased as well. Mostly plumbers choose those valves with a maximum head slightly greater than that of the depth of the water. This avoids further volume flow fluctuations if happen. For instance, if the depth of the water well is 60 meters, your installed valve must be capable of working at a depth of about 70 meters. 

Size of House:

The most noted parameter that plumbers also consider is the house size. The choice for the valve is made according to the appliances and overall network of the plumbing in your house. The standard criterion for measuring the valve size is to measure it in the relative units of GPM (Gallons Per Minute). For example, if the house consists of four bedrooms, then it is a preferred voice to install a proportional valve controller with at least a capacity of 12 GPM per minute.
